Looks like a serious machine, like the Q range. I guess if it's a 10" you are looking for it could be the one, but nothing for owners of other laptops or netbooks to get too excited about...

In an ideal world they would have waited and released that with a 2.0GHZ atom, available in both 10" and 12" with a better GPU than what is currently in 95% of netbooks.

Yeah, I think the Samsungs are the best netbooks at the moment, but I remember the nc-10's price was adjusted quickly after launch and reckon the same will happen here. Will be good to see one in the flesh as to speak!

Cool Re: News - Samsung N110 netbook hits retail, doesn't come cheap

the Eee PC 1000HE from ASUS features the newer 1.66Ghz Intel Atom N280 and GN40 chipset
I'm pretty sure it's like all the recent releases and has the N270 or N280 paired with the 945GSE chipset.

No matter, I agree with Parm that all of these 'updated' 10.2" Netbooks are getting way too pricey and it's making the cheap(er) full size laptops seem like a viable option despite their obvious size/weight handicap.

Re: News - Samsung N110 netbook hits retail, doesn't come cheap

The new 1000HE was rummered to be the new intel GN40 however looks like it's still on the 945GSE for now.

How much longer are we going to have to wait for a chipset to replace the ageing 945 to actually be released?

EDIT: The only really major change in both the asus and samsung is replaceing the Lithium-ion battery for the newer better Lithium-Polymer battery.
All you'd need would be a 6cell Lithium-Polymer battery for your nc10 or 1000h and there you go 9ish hours of battery.
The new battery technology is probably what's pushed up the price as well.
