Yeh, I was thinking that. I guess I will check when I get home if they added anything to it.

Autotune has been in Overdrive for.... a very long time as far as I'm aware.

Yep, they've done something to Overdrive. For starters they've added some weird screensaver thing while its testing the clocks. It also takes a lot longer so i guess its a bit more accurate.

I think it errs on the side of caution now, dropping 10mhz below what i know my card to run safely at.

Re: News - AMD launches Catalyst 9.4 drives, introduces auto-tune to ATI Overdrive

Hopefully it will be more accruate as when i ran it on Auto not long after I got my 4870 a couple of months ago it kept increasing and passing the clocks for core and memory up to the end of the scales.

'Wow what a great card!' I thought, needless to say in real world applications it didnt last long at those speeds and I backed it down to stock. Will have another go tonight.

Re: News - AMD launches Catalyst 9.4 drives, introduces auto-tune to ATI Overdrive

Just had a bash. My card is a standard 4850. Fan speed locked at 100% it is like a jet engine.

My previous auto-tune results were Core: 690MHz and Memory: 1185MHz

This time when I performed it, it really took a lot longer. This time it clocked in at Core: 690MHz and Memory: 1160MHz.

Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

Re: News - AMD launches Catalyst 9.4 drives, introduces auto-tune to ATI Overdrive

lets hope these drivers acually work well.
recently ati drivers suck.
every so often the screen will just randomly go blank for a few seconds and then come back.
i first noticed it on the college machines. i assumed it was the mirror driver that is used by ABtutor control.
but then it happened on my parents computer which also uses a ati card. all the new dell's at college use ati cards.

i will update the drivers on my parents machine soon and find out if they are any better.

Never had a problem like that, either with my x1950xt or the 4870. Have been constantly running the newest drivers for the last 6 months or so.
