Finally about time. Although I don't like the touch screen idea. I want to be able to change tracks/volume/whatever without having to look at the screen.
Looks like the first MP3 player that makes me think iPod isn't the be-all and end-all
They can keep the games to themselves though....I just want an MP3 player

An concept sort of dreamed up there...
Is the price HD too?
I doubt microsoft would be able to beat apple iPod touch at only £165 now...
and yeah - commercial Xbox arcade games maybe but not full 3D lol even the second gen iPod touch and the iPhone struggle to play proper 3D games

They'll have to do a lot to get regular people to buy these, Microsoft isn't 'cool' in most peoples books....
So if I buy one does that make me uncool? Or simply an informed person who isn't afraid to buck the trend?

Well, my iPod classic's screen is close to dead, so this could turn out to be almost perfect timing.
To be honest I think i'd buy it.
Looks good just need to worry about the price.
I think you have a very valid point.
Too many people will simply buy an iPod for the same reason they buy an iPhone, they don't need, and in the case of someone i've meet via a friend (who will never make the mistake of introducing me to a cycle courier who hates people who own Bentleys again) they couldn't even work the damn thing properly, and just couldn't understand how to rip a mix CD so it could playback smoothly.
They just buy them because its status. The iPhone now allows people to buy them on credit. The zune will have to tap the lesser market, of non trendy people, who can afford what sounds a more expensive device.

If it plays FLAC files and ogg im sold! Never have and never will buy an Ipod. Have been using my Creative Zen Sleak Photo for years and its yet to fail me + it sounds better than any Ipod i have ever heard!

About damm time, I'll be getting hold of this Having been on 1st and 2nd gen Zune's and being impressed I'm sure MS will once again deliver the goods! Finally a release outside of America!
Don't think it will play flac or ogg, you'd have to trascode to WMA lossless or something.
