The cable management is *nice*, as is the rest of the airflow management..

Bit big for my needs though

Re: Corsair fire a broadside at the chassis guys

Wow that does look like it's got some very good layout/air flow.
Nice to see someone actually put some thought into it.
The idea of no front fans, but drawing air up instead I like (granted not a new idea)
I love the concept of drawing air across the hard drives in an enclosed, hot-swappable bay. Then feeding the air out of the case behind the motherboard tray, I've not seen any cases do that before.
The rubber seals on the cabling holes looks good and keeps the air separate.

    $200-250 too expensive for me.
unless that price come down a load more it's going to fall into the same hole as the Cooler Master ATCS 840 for me.
Namely, a nice case but costing twice what I'd actually pay for it.

Re: Corsair fire a broadside at the chassis guys

a proper case is a worthy investment, cos you could own it for up to 10 years. My original case lasted 7 with me and is now on it's 3rd year with someone else...

Lovely cooling, love the hard drive bay to back of the mobo air flow idea

Re: Corsair fire a broadside at the chassis guys

Thats true. but I don't think you need to spend £200 on a case for it to last 10 years.

And if you were to spend £50 on a case and it lasted anything over 2 1/2 years you are already ahead

Re: Corsair fire a broadside at the chassis guys

Looks brilliant, especially the cabling thing, £200 is a bit excessive though......

Anyone know if that PSU has to be mounted upside down, i.e. with the fan at the top? Apologies if he mentions this in the film, couldn't listen to the sound on the video.

Re: Corsair fire a broadside at the chassis guys

Those bottom vents are just going to clog the PSU with dustbunnies in no time.

Doesn't offer me much, if anything over the Hiper case I've got.

Re: Corsair fire a broadside at the chassis guys

Well many cases do the psu drawing air up from the bottom thing, in fact the Hiper Osiris, which is the follow on from the Anubis which you have, uses this layout for the psu.
If you have your case on a desk or simular raised position rather than on the floor then you'll find you get far less dust this way.
On top of that He said in the video that the final version will have dust filters, so that should take care of most bunny issues anyway.

Although I think between yourself and Funkstar you've hit the big issues with this case.
for £200 it doesn't offer much over a good that would cost half the price or less and would last just as long.

Although thinking about it it does sort of make sense, Corsair are probably going to make very little return on this case, they are aiming it right at the very top end where the market is small, specialised and demanding.

This case could be more of a market sounding / reptuation thing, if it's a success, not a profit success but a reptuation building success, it would then put them in a far stronger position to release a range of cases which covered a wider market.
Simular strategy Corsair used with their PSUs

Excellent features ie cable and air flow management but not much of a looker. Hope this is just a prototype and they put more thought into the aesthetics.

Re: Corsair fire a broadside at the chassis guys

    Nice looking case.
I am looking for something rather big with a decent amount of space, airflow and cable management.
I have been looking at any of the big Silverstone cases, the XClio 1100, this Corsair one and any random one that may take my fancy.

There are a few nice features but I don't think I could warrant the money. Hopefully Lian Li will steal the cable routing idea and put it in a slight smaller/ nicer looking case

I have done that, though it is a false economy, I am desperatly needing a newer case now as I simply don't have any room at all in mine, If I had spent a bit more on it however it would have lasted me a lot longer, not £200 quid more though, I like the look of this, but £200 is a bit too much.
