I would hold off for a while been trying for the last two hours to grab this and the downloads time out. I'm gonna give it a few days I think then try again.

think it would work well on a netbook(like msi wind)?
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

Re: News - Windows 7 Release Candidate now available to download

Plodding along at about 180k/s, but getting there! Need to work out how to successfully vLite it so I can install to my 8GB netbook drive

[edit] BTW, just noticed this on their FAQ site...

IMPORTANT: The RC will expire on June 1, 2010. Starting on March 1, 2010, your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows will notify you two weeks before the bi-hourly shutdowns start. To avoid interruption, you'll need to rebuild your test machine using a valid version of Windows before the software expires. You'll need to rebuild your test PC to replace the OS and reinstall all your programs and data. (To learn more, see Frequently asked questions.)
So it's really March 1st when it becomes "unusable"

Yes - without a doubt. the old beta build is a long way from the RC in terms of 'readyness'

7048 onwards have been worth a jump from the beta, so of course this is worth the jump and also keeps everyone's knickers untwisted. win!

Re: News - Windows 7 Release Candidate now available to download

If you want a direct download like for something like Orbit Downloader instead of using the one they force you too on the site use this link

    http://wb.dlservice.microsoft.com/dl...rer_en_dvd.iso

Only downside is you won't get a serial key if you don't already have one... but you could always get that from them and download separately... up to you

installed as dual boot - had a play around - all looks good - no crashes, no slowdowns, all drivers are working fine. Will gradually install all my applications and then get rid of XP.

Tried to install on an old/spare laptop, BSODs after loading the install files & attempting to get to the next screen Doesn't meet the spec so I can't complain

D/L @ 170K spot on for the few hours it took, guess that means it's throttled!

Re: News - Windows 7 Release Candidate now available to download

My current boot is Windows XP and Vista, of which I'll replace Vista with Seven.

Is it possible to dual-boot with my Windows XP?

If I installed Seven, would it changes the boot information that I currently has?

Same here, quite a bit different to my experience of Vista. Although i will give it a few days longer, vista was great for 5 minutes too.
