    9600GS I think.

Wonder how well Vista will run on a computer with 512mb RAM :/ Must be cracking for games...

The Nvidia GeForce GT 130M is a DirectX 10 graphics card for notebooks and technically a higher clocked GeForce 9650M GT with a lower current consumption .

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/product...t_130m_us.html

~ a cut down desktop geforce 9500 or mobile 9600 gt.

The article links to the desktop rather than mobile gt130, and as usual with nvidia parts the notebook parts with the same name rarely use the same chips much less have the same specifications.

Given that it packs a 90W PSU and a 9-cell battery as an *option*, how long do we think the 6 cell battery is likely to last in normal operation (let alone gaming!). I'm inclined to think "not long" is a reasonable answer...

Re: News - MSI launches GX403 14in notebok with 'proper' graphics

Whilst much better than integrated graphics, mobile 9600 GT equivalent graphics are *far* from exciting. There is nothing remotely 'proper' about so I am not sure why you've used this word, in inverted commas no less, in your title! Makes it sound way more exciting than it is, especially given that MSI has a laptop with mobile 4850 graphics in, which is much more 'proper'

Mobile graphics are not to be underestimated. The 8600GT GDDR2 no less was capable of far more than I was expecting.

I think this looks like a great little laptop

And 2 years and 3 'generations' on, here it is again, albeit a little bit slower.

On the laptop, this is miles better than their previous gaming laptops. It's more subtle, despite more of that bloody red. It's also a nice size. There are so many 15" laptops out there that it's nice to see a half decent one offered in a slightly different package.

~£650 with a decent CPU and minus the flexible plastic body of their previous laptops and they might have something that's actually usable.

Exclamation Re: News - MSI launches GX403 14in notebok with 'proper' graphics

    YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!!!!!!!!

    Heard It ALL Before!!!

MSI PROMISED the GX 400 back in August 2008 but it never hit the market... can't find ANY for sale on the web or in the UK...

Now, 9 months later... in May 2009, we have been waiting nearly a month since the "announcement" of the GX 403.....

I am beginning to think that MSI stands for
    "Misleading Sales Information"

    Anyone else smell a rat?

Come on MSI, STOP MAKING PROMISES THAT YOU DON'T KEEP!

WHEN IS THE RELEASE DATE FOR THE GX 403???

    PUT UP OR SHUT UP!

Are there any IT journalists out there who would like to put the heat on them and start asking them to put their products
    where their mouth is?

Or perhaps they may consider sticking those fake product releases in a place where the sun doth not shine...

    Cheers,

    Harlow.

If that's the case, then damn... something like this would have been really exciting to have on the market too...

The flames in the MSI advert below seem appropriate
