    News - Confusion reigns over White PS3 DualShock 3 controller

    No official announcement, Sony deny it, yet someone appears to have got their grubby mitts on a White DualShock 3.

    I'm pretty sure Sony ran a white SKU past the FCC and ACT ages ago for approval maybe they sent out stock ready for an E3 announcement and some leaked on to shelves early.

    Weird. There were/are "Ceramic White" 40GB PS3's in the Asia and Japan regions, I'm assuming they had white controllers too.

    Maybe someone slipped one of these in to a regular shipment as a joke or to cause trivial and pointless confusion.

    I'd be willing to put money on this being the case... although why would you want a white controller... I don't think it would go with the console as it is... (unless they also announce a white console which would then make sense).

    I thought the white PS3 controllers were probably the discontinued Sixaxis controllers... but then I saw this picture on Wikipedia from 2008.
