True - I guess I'm just lucky that my laptop hasn't already burst into flames in the last 17 months... ;)
The real problem is that to check my laptop's serial number against the list of affected laptops, I'm going to have to use ... my laptop! Let's hope it doesn't burst into flames while I'm trying to check if it is going to burst into flames... ;)

Yes there is new cell technology where cells will not catch fire, they are using it for the latest power drills. They can be fast charged and discharged at massive rates but at the moment the cells are fairly large.
