I think they are, if the cost of the other parts (motherboard, full channels RAM) is so much less than i7.

On the one hand, I'm disappointed and slightly annoyed that Intel are being so complacent and denying us consumers access to this new and interesting technology. However, on the other hand I am slightly relieved because it makes waiting until next year to upgrade very slightly easier, now that there are two fewer months of temptation!

They aren't denying you anything really.....if you really want the tech, buy i7 now.

That's good as I'm looking to build a middle to high end quad core pc.. But now these will be new technology when I decide to build so I'll probably be buying one of these.. depending on performance and OC'ing.. and price!
