Is that lone SATA port next to the onboard audio being bullied by the other SATA ports.
It got called names for being the token eSATA breakout slot connector. Likely due to the number of connectors on the backplate, if there's eSATA it'll be on a bracket.

The article already states it has eSATA. So that single SATA is either for a second eSATA breakout or you have the ability to use that SATA link as either internal or external.
Or it really is being bulied by the others
I've had a couple of boards with a lone SATA port there and in the manual it eludes to using it to raid with an eSATA drive (with that SATA and the eSATA being on the same controller)
I would also like to think that if a motherboard sports "eSATA", it doesn't just bundle a SATA>eSATA cable.....but that's just me
