Maybe if I was powering a 7680x4800 resolution monitor, otherwise, see above.
You'd be suprised at how valuable e-peen is over sanity for some people.
But will it run Crysis?
Probably 500 of the 1000 will end up distributed as review samples, sponsored by Nvidia for the publicity.
The 1000 unit limit seems a bit pointless to me, at retail thats only just over £1 million worth, hardly seems worth the development and tooling costs.
The price is ridiculous, but you have to hand it to Asus for developing this card, its a great way of them demonstrating what they are capable of.
This is why it's worth it. It was never intended for making money, just a proof of contept and technology demonstration.

I am tempted by the price, but double the price for 30% more performance o.O
£1000 is silly, but they will shift them easy, Intel can shift £1000 cpus, Nvidia will shift £1000 GPU's
