Seems like a fairly strange mixture of countries to launch in!
Maybe they are avoiding the EU due to competition issues...
I've read elsewhere that the team is based in Isreal, hence releasing the beta there.
Why Infinite, lots of very good research in security is done there!
In fact the area is very famous in cyrptogrophy circles apparently, off the top of my head, the last exploit i 'researched' with regards to sniffing the WEP key was a project from that area.

I don't trust them to code an OS. Why should I trust their Antivirus?
(Linux User)
Well you don't need one if you're a linux user .
But despite Windows' flaws Microsoft does have most likely the best software engineers in the world, the crem de la crem from all over. So it's worth having a look at their AV solution. I thought a few years ago the principle was to have everything running on a different layer - almost like in virtualisation - so any potential malware had no opportunity to do any significant damage. Obviously that's gone by the way side.

Well I'm giving it a whirl on my home system (Win7 x64 build 7113) after removing Avira Antivir Pro to make sure they don't conflict.
It's a little tricky to "rate" this type of product - you can only determine if you like the UX and it doesn't appear to slow the system down noticeably (and the only official test I know of is the EICAR site, which it picked up immediately).
That said, I like the clean interface (in my totally unbiased opinion <g> Microsoft tend to have the best interfaces for the products I use) and it's not getting in my way.
~ I have CDO. It's like OCD except the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be. ~
