Are these the smallest USB sticks available? I was just recently looking at the Super Silm ones from SuperTalent.

Yes, these are alot smaller than the super talent ones, just look at the size of the connector

These are pretty tiny as well, are still 16GB and have very good access times

But for sheer size, I prefer this

It's a bit longer than a SIM card and about as thick as a 1p coin

The above look like MicroSD cards with a USB connector but I can't even begin to fathom the Buffalo one...

Re: News - Buffalo to launch tiny 16GB USB flash drive

I assume they're not highly losable though, something like that would easily just remain in a laptop as perhaps a small backup drive. There's very little to stick out so it would go into most laptop slip cases.

I would dig one of these. Would work great permanently plugged in my EEE PC for extra storage

Re: News - Buffalo to launch tiny 16GB USB flash drive

Umm, prices for pendrives do not seem to have fallen that much in recent months. 16GB still seem to be the sweet spot at around £1/GB for the least pricey ones. Tiny is great, but I am not really willing to compromise too much on costs (I wonder how much this one will cost).

Re: News - Buffalo to launch tiny 16GB USB flash drive

Unless it were staying constantly plugged in as some are indicating I think I would rather have something a little bigger; harder to lose and easier to unplug from the port. Still, it's got a niche, choice is good and all that.

Re: News - Buffalo to launch tiny 16GB USB flash drive

these will be great for netbooks and laptops. i could stick a couple of these in my dell mini9 and still have a spare usb socket for my usb modem. it just depends on the price, as it's small and has little parts it will hopefully be pretty cheap. if they are around the £20 mark, just a couple of quid more than the larger ones, they should sell like hotcakes. i have a bluetooth dongle that looks about the same size on my laptop, you can pretty much forget it's plugged in, you don't need to worry about knocking it

Re: News - Buffalo to launch tiny 16GB USB flash drive

aparently they are going to be about $138, which is about £3000 at the current exchange rate. hopefully it won't be long till the other manufacturers figure out how to make other flashdrives that small too
