They keep restocking every hour to stop a few people buying all the copies.

Can't decide whether to buy.... I do like the RC though.....

Is anyone else concerned that this massive demand will result in these preorders not being honoured by some companies? (I'm looking at you Amazon).

I doubt it, Microsoft as with all their previous OS's will have mass produced so much there will be boxes of the things left un-opened for months and to go on the shelves Also there will be those that bought a digital version from the MS store I would imagine.

I hope you are right, but I get concerned about the caveat on Amazon's site stating "Offer is subject to promotional stock availability and may be changed or withdrawn without notice by Amazon.co.uk". I ordered a Wii on the first morning they went on pre-order with Amazon and that wasn't fulfilled, although I appreciate it's a lot easier to produce software than hardware. I guess it comes down to how much stock MS allocates Amazon.

We would hope that all the companies will have agreed set amounts with microsoft in advance of the offer starting so any pre-orders made should be honoured.

I have my order with amazon placed it at 7 this morning,

Hoping on that, too. Placed an order for 2x Home Premium, and 1x Pro. Can't wait, want to settle down to a final build, although the RC is behaving extraordinarily well for me on an Asus P5KPL-CM based PC, and an Intel 965 chipset-based Philips Freevents laptop.

I ordered at 00:45 with Play.com - I'm hoping that if there are any issues with supply that it'll at least go to those that ordered first

At this time, Amazon.co.uk have sold completely out, although Play.com do seem to have some left.

I expect that is there just to cover Amazon's own back, however given what's at stake, I'm very certain that MS will be able to fulfil all stocks to retailers to get as many "sold" on release so MS can wave their own banner.

either I'm getting confused right now, or Play have just put their price up to £79.99 for HP in the last hour or so.
