So if the final build is 7600 does that mean that when i recieve my copy of Windows 7 Home Premium I can use the product key to activate my copy I have downloaded of the leaked build 7600? :/

It's best not to considering the build you downloaded might not actually be the RTM build. IIRC both 16834 & 16835 were leaked and both labelled as RTM. I'd wait till we have the official hashes from Microsoft.

Im using the leaked copy now, it has the finishing touches, including all the sound schemes, so looks final =D

Ill be activating it with a key on the 6th of august When technet supplies.

WZOR Has leaked the hashes from inside MS, and they match the leaked ISO.

I think at least two people in this thread should be rather careful what they say... *tsk*

Re: News - Windows 7 done and dusted, RTM signed off

I've been told before by MS staff that as long as you hold a licence the media is not important. Infact I've been told to borrow a friends CD and just use my key instead. (Which to be fair is pretty common sense)

I have frequently used my CDs to repair/reinstall other ppls machines. The media is the same for all users. Its the licence that says you have paid for it. Hence why i'm pissed off that I cant buy Win7 from the usa and download the iso instead of being shafted with the USA to UK 1:1 price ratio. (And no you cant claim shipping and handling fees... I'm downloading it.)

But we'll have to wait for Aug 6th to confirm I suspect.

As for illegal copies - does your licence grant you rights now? Aug 6th? Oct 22nd? Like it or not this is not a released product and dicussing leaked builds you've obtained illicitly isn't very clever given the forum rules.
