All I can say to this.....
Bastards
Activision make shedloads as Actiblizzard with Wow so they have no reason to hike the prices
FFS that is over $100 per game, as for the exchange rates they are similar to before the crash so can't really be blamed
I won't be buying Prof Layton, and I wont be getting MW2 on release
Re: News - Nintendo and Microsoft follow Activision's lead with videogame price hike
Wish I had pre-ordered layton now everywhere seems to be £5 more expensive.. not buying it now.
I dont have a 360/PS3 because the games were too expensive already.. asking for more is just hilarious.

+1. £55 is just plain stupid for a game, no way would I pay that much for ANY GAME.
Re: News - Nintendo and Microsoft follow Activision's lead with videogame price hike
Well said, Finlay! Could of put money on others following suit once Activison set the precedent and seemingly got away with it. Consumers need to be united on this issue or its gonna push RRP's up accross the board. Boycot!!!
Re: News - Nintendo and Microsoft follow Activision's lead with videogame price hike
No way I'll be paying that for a game, I'd wait for price to drop first or buy pre-owned - the publishers don't get any extra money that way ;)
Re: News - Nintendo and Microsoft follow Activision's lead with videogame price hike
There's some hope for PC gaming yet! :p
Re: News - Nintendo and Microsoft follow Activision's lead with videogame price hike
Even the PC game has taken a hike but still cheaper than the console versions.
I will just wait till after Christmas, wait for the sales to die down a bit, shops lower the prices to get shot of a few more and then I will buy it. I can wait for it tbh... it's CoD4 with bells and whistles on it. Also if the online is anything to go by CoD4, I could wait a year alone and then still find servers filled with people to do co-op and online.

Looks like the Live! Arcade will be getting more of my business then - or I'll be back on WOW again for the vfm.

ROFLMAO!
Maybe I really will need a 4890! :D
Re: News - Nintendo and Microsoft follow Activision's lead with videogame price hike
Oh well...
Looks like I'll be resubscribing to WoW once I've moved and got my own dedicated internet link if the price rises are planned. This is going to give me good value and some serious gameplay time.
I may even purchase a few new tracks from xbox live for RB2, but I'm scared of my 2nd unit dying and loosing all of my downloads.
Maybe if we all thought " stuff it! " and didn't buy any games for a month, the developers would then take notice.

Better to make sure to buy games only below a certain amount - that sends back the message that there's still a game buying market out there, but they won't pay above X for a game.

I'd be more than happy to do this if there was a chance of it actually doing anything. It won't. Because there are plenty of idiots out there who will run out and buy MW2/FIFA etc at any price.
MW2 £55 for standard and £70 for collectors edition. Anyone who buys at those prices are mugs.
Re: News - Nintendo and Microsoft follow Activision's lead with videogame price hike
Looks like i will carry on playing older console titles then..no chance i'm coughing up that much of my hard earned money..ridiculous amount.
Re: News - Nintendo and Microsoft follow Activision's lead with videogame price hike
hopefully not to many games follow this trend, also this is the main reason why im getting a pc to play games.
Re: News - Nintendo and Microsoft follow Activision's lead with videogame price hike
They can't be serious. All that's going to do is kill sales and encourage black-market piracy.
