Would also have been nice if they gave a discount code to people who installed the open beta and RC instead of running a limited preorder discount scheme.

Not that i mind i have already pre-ordered my copies of 7 just would have made me install a beta operating system again on all my machines

Sorry haveron, I don't think you qualify. The Windows 7 Technical Beta Program was before the open beta. Pity tho as like you I have used both the beta and RC version but to be fair we've had a pretty stable (at least for me), not too bad OS for a while now.
Fraid we are just going to have to stump up some cash if we want the real deal.
