i cant see why they would, they have done well in the console wars a huge improvement over the first xbox sales.
would like built in wifi in they were gonna change it though.
Same here, the console looks fine as it is if you ask me and obviously if there is going to be newer die shrinks bring them on !
I remember something MS were on about. NATAL. And it being included in the next revision?
Or maybe I am confusing this with something else.
That'd be some feat.Quote:
and it'll squeeze both the CPU and GPU onto the same piece of silicon
I thought MS had already responded - they increased the price of their console :p
Am i right in thinking that the CPU & GPU on the same piece of silicon would perform better than seperately ? Obviously if they do i can't really see devs/MS making use of it, just curious.
MS having been testing their so called 'slim 360' but have yet to find a solution to RROD, that's why Sony's beaten them to the punch! MS had it with the Xbox 1 then lost it all with the 360 - [fact: 360's the most defective console in gaming history], tragic story that!...
That's because MS rushed the original Xbox. In their greediness they forgot to sign all technology for the console to themselves, so Nvidia literally owned the Xbox. With MS forcing Nvidia to lower their sale price, there was no way they would let MS make any changes. This is also the reason for no hardware backward compatibility, MS would have had to ask Nvidia, and pay them as well. So the reason for all the RROD's is that they used ATI instead :PQuote:
Furthermore, the company has never previously introduced a smaller version of an existing console, and we've no reason to believe it'll start now.
As for a slim 360. Hell yes. The current model is one big piece of crap, noisy, too damn hot, and bloody unreliable. MS need a major slap for allowing this to happen, the fact that they buried their head in the sand and said what problems before saying that "some consoles are failing" will go down in history as one of the biggest *&^% ups in gaming.
Just wanted to say I don't think Valhalla is a response to the PS3 slim since I've known about it for ages. Check the date on this post: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s...d.php?t=901401 I don't think Sony had announced a slim PS3 then.
Yeah the board revision names have been on the webs for ages, if there is to be a new SKU it probably will be with Natal but i doubt it will be integrated into the 360 it self.
It's just some loser who doesn't know jack.
It's a known fact Valhalla has been on the roadmap for a LONG time (I read on it when I bought my Falcon then my Jasper 360, 18 months to the start of this year)
They don't need a slim 360, especially not when the slim ps3 is only a few mm thinner than the 360, a better choice would be incorporating hardware (such as planned with the Natal release apparently) and wifi etc than to focus on a thinner one.
Don't forget Sony have removed all BC and ability to install Linux on the machines now also
Yeah to make it thinner they'd have to do a side-mountable HDD or something.
I would of thought the ability to install Linux would be software related rather than hardware, hmmmmm.
