    News - Intel to launch its Core i5 750 processor on September 8th

    A UK-based retailer has revealed that Intel's Lynnfield-based LGA 1156 processors will launch next week.

    The question is, do i get a Phenom 2 X3 720 now or wait for i5? has anybody got decent benchmarks?

    I'm guessing its an error that it specifies 2 graphic cards
    A 9800GT and a GTX275
    now thats a bargain

    What's the point of waiting til the release date to announce its availability? Let people know when its coming out, and let them get their pre-orders in. If it's a lack of supply, then get off your asses, improve the yield, or push the release date back.

    Has there been any benchmarks yet? I've not seen any. Makes you wonder if the i5 is a dudd and Intel know it.

    If it was any good I am sure Intel would have leaked benchmark results out. I see the i5 having serious flaws....

    I hope so too, as Intel need bringing down a pegg or two.

    HardOCP has an i5 performance preview. They dont list the hard numbers due to a NDA but they have charts comparing the i5 to the i7. You can find their preview at

    From that it looks like i5 won't be far from i7 in terms of performance.

    Suppose we won't know until tomorrow. But it looks like the i5 will be better than the X4 black edition.

    Should a lower TFP of 95W mean these suckers should overclocker as well as and cooler than the 920?
