looks like the i5 is gonna be too much for me, back to the Phenom then.

lol im another from the 478 & AGP brigade!
Been eyeing up a i7 920 build and now this happens!
Wud be nice to get one of these mobos at a good cost but most will go to oportunists with an ebay account![]()
Showing on Scan now but also at full price, no sign of it on ebuyer
i5 | Antec Sonata 3 | 4 GB | OCZ Vertex | Spinpoint F3 | Windows 7
It must be discounted at 2pm then
i5 chips are up though, and I did some more work with a calculator - if you get the discounted mobo it's cheaper than a Phenom II X4 955 + 790GX motherboard, if you get one of the full priced mobos there's not more than £40-50 difference... damn it's so attractive.
If I was in AMD sales today would carry quite a few worries for me.![]()
I will be trawling about today for the offer so will let you guys know if I see anything before Scan has time to put it up.
Scan are showing the MSI P55-GD80 Intel P55 Motherboard LGA1156 as pre-order only (presently at full price). Has this always been the case today?
eBuyer never allow puchasing items not in stock so it may not be possible to get the GD-80 from them today. Similar problem with the Windows 7 promo (I was never able to pre-buy Windows 7 from them because it kept stating no stock). In the end I purchased Windows 7 from Currys online!
Hope this isn't going to be a royal coc k up. You know a couple of hundred happy customers and five thousand piss ed off because they got the run around and couldn't get the deal.![]()
Shame neither are MATX boards.

I don't think the prices are too bad, a bit cheaper and I don't think we would be here contemplating why the prices are so.
Update: OverclockersUK will not be taking part in this offer. novatech will be.
CCL dropped their prices minutes ago, GD80 all gone, I managed to nab one. Loads of GD65 left at discounted price - http://www.cclonline.com/product-inf...id=p55-gd65_so
All I can say is, keep your eyes on novatech. They have the lowest prices at the moment, without discount.

many thanks for the early heads up, just ordered from CCL
Overclockers have "promo" stock to order right now of both boards!
They still have stock because their prices are higher. I'd advise people to order one now if they want one, cos this is the best they will get to be honest. You might save a few quid by waiting and being quick, but with CCL nearly sold out, scan apparently not selling them and novatech being potentially similiar prices, i'd get one now.
