OMG i'm so going to try and get one... Cannot wait till lynnfield comes out. It has timed perfectly for when I've finished saving so hoping to get a brand new rig.
Just hope they're not all gone by the time i'm back from school.
Re: News - MSI to offer a 55% launch-day discount on P55 motherboards
If i can, I will certainly buy one at that price!
Re: News - MSI to offer a 55% launch-day discount on P55 motherboards
Cheap as chips! Is there a similar deal on the Core i5 CPUs? ;)
Re: News - MSI to offer a 55% launch-day discount on P55 motherboards
Quite. Good price on the mobo, but how much will the CPU be?
Re: News - MSI to offer a 55% launch-day discount on P55 motherboards
I was thinking of getting one of the Asus P7 Evo boards since i was put off by MSI's stupidly high retail prices however i'm definitely considering getting either the GD65 or GD80 now :D... or maybe their mATX board if information on it is released before the release date.

Re: News - MSI to offer a 55% launch-day discount on P55 motherboards
Shame there is no DDR2 support, that is putting me off upgrading as I'd need to get new everything and don't want to waste 6-8gb of RAM I have
Re: News - MSI to offer a 55% launch-day discount on P55 motherboards
This is a bargain, heres hoping other vendors will follow suit. I may actually buy one at this price and just get the CPU later on as well as some RAM, wouldnt be a bad investment would it ? The only problem is do you be greedy and get the higher end board or do you go for maximum savings and go for the high end board, descisions...

I will be keeping an eye out, ahahaha :p
Anyone know the model numbers of the equivalent Asus boards? I've always been an Asus guy so Im wondering how these compare. Saying that tho, these MSI seem pretty feature packed.

Yup - it's a great offer from MSI but it's a shame Intel (and all the associated distributors and retailers) won't have anything to match it for the CPUs themselves. On that note has anyone been tracking DDR3 prices? I've noticed DDR2 has been going up the past few weeks.
Re: News - MSI to offer a 55% launch-day discount on P55 motherboards
this is extra interesting as im about to do 2 new builds. Anybody seen any core i5 benchmarks?
thinking of sticking with a phenom II X3 720 atm

Yeah, right, keep telling yourself that: you know damn well what'll happen. You'll get the new board, and to start with you'll think "I'll be good. I'll wait for the other bits". Then, after... oooh, 2 - 3 hours? Something like that? You'll be bored and think "well, maybe I'll just get some RAM". Then the next day "And maybe a CPU". "And a case". "And a couple of 290GTXs". "And some red neon string and uvs and fuzzy dice and a 5.25 bay fan controlller and a fata1ity gaming mouse and a rumble chair and a 32 inch display".
...
That's what happens to me, anyway.

What's up with these prices? 63 is not 45% of 169.
