Awesome! but what's this stuff about cloud, services etc...I just want it to be plug and play...or with some embedded OS...nothing else thank you

Clever idea, I might try one out. The idea of laptop drive nas is great for me as I cannot bare the noise of normal drives.

so this is a NAS that dies after a year ?!
(unless you pay the subscription for year 2....)

Looks that way to me. At which point, I entirely lost interest. Actually, that's not quite right .... I lost interest when I realised this put access to my "NAS" drive onto the web at all. I accept that some people will want, and love, that feature but no way in hell am I doing it. I've spent a fair bit of time and money making sure it doesn't happen. Also, a subscription service? Not for me, thanks.
