I actually like the look of some of those - maybe the EU is only mostly bad

That looks like saying that ISPs will have to specify a minimum quality for the service they offer.
The EU has been consistently good to digital matters.

For once, EU stuff that I don't find a reason to disagree with. Except maybe that we might need to wait until June 2011?
Second time actually. Mobile roaming charges
AFAIK we have opt-outs for anything that we actually don't want to put into practice.
I think, thanks to Gordon's refusal to give us a referendum, that we've lost our ability to veto a goodly number of things so this should apply to us too. Anyway by that time we'll have a new government so who knows where we'll be.
At this rate, down the gutter.
