Couldn't agree more. I assume the AM3 chips aren't as voltage sensitive as Core i7 in the memory controller, so why not use the extra voltage to tighten the timings?

guess we will have to up the voltage and tighten the timing ourselves, wonder what the OC will be with so much voltage spare

Give it a bit of time and let other makers get on this band wagon and then the competition will get going and better timings and voltages will come along. I think OCZ are just testing the water to see if there is much of a market for a AM3 specific kit.

Re: News - OCZ debuts AMD-optimised DDR3 memory for AM3 chips

I'm just building my first AMD system, and have bought some high spec RAM 'designed' to run at 1.65v... was is the general experience pushing more volts through DDR3 Dual Channel kits on an AM3 setup? Is this recommened voltage purely for Intel systems? How high do you think it is safe to go with a Phenom X3?
