I know basically nothing about desktop replacement laptops, but it strikes me that someone wanting a portable powerhouse, regardless of cost, is likely to wait for mobile i7 cpus. Have I missed something here?

More fundamentally, BFG are using names of the moons of Mars, as seen in the Doom series. No mention of battery size/life then (or lack thereof)?

You don't buy one of these and expect to be able to use away from a wall!!
The battery is at best a portable UPS to allow you to change plugs when you move seats...

I can't help thinking that branding the Deimos a 'notebook' is ambitious.
It's more of a Workstaion with Integrated Interfaces...
...no wait, hold on.

Time to work those lung and belly muscle when using this monster on the sofa. And possibly increasingly frequent trips to the loo. :surrender:

would like to see single GPU on the basic option and a lower entry price - it only does 1080p res so a single GT280M would let most games show off at that res with very acceptable settings/framerates

You can select to have only one GTX 260M in the configurator. You can also configure to only have one HDD, so the starting price would be $1859. And with the current 10% off, that would be even less. :)
