Anyone else unable to get the website to get past the shipping section - someone forgot to include any options for the shipping country.

Re: News - Microsoft Windows 7 student offer is live now

Apparently over in the US the student edition that they get as part of their tuition fees will not allow you to transfer the licence over to a new PC, which basically means that after you upgrade any hardware you're without a paddle.

Is this true and does the same apply to the UK edition?

Computery course students should check if they have MSDNAA, it's free from there.

How does this work? They just email you a product key? or do you get one of those proper labels?

I would imagine it would depend if your current OS that you are upgrading is Professional?

Not all students are smart, let alone computer smart.

Also Microsoft are being cheeky when the say that you only need to get professional if you require the networking features.
