So you pay more for the same hardware because its in a nice white case, then because you are stuck with a limited OS you have to buy an Emulator to run a proper OS which is then limited due to have to run through the first mentioned limited OS...

Why not save some money and get the same hardware cheaper and just install windows 7...

OSX isn't limited mate, absolutely not.

Lack of apps is the problem but again based on your biased post you will never open your eyes on what's out there - and there is plenty.

    FYI

VMware FuZioN can run off from BootCamp partition so no host OS is needed, but you knew that one already right?

    Just like Parallels...

Right, so its not limited. it just lacks apps. But its not a limit.

What does OSX offer the programmer? COCOA is utterly awful. It actually makes eclipse seam streamlined.

Compare it to say VS2008 with ReSharper. Even writing vanilla code is better, then add on a powerful declarative framework for GUI, LINQ for the functional approche and ORM for the Model......

There is a reason why their market share is less than that of windows 95.

There's an app for that... its called Windows.

Its quite simple, if you only use the 'out of the box' features then OSX may have a slight advantage, as soon as you want other features, the choice and compatibility of windows shines very strongly.

And running bootcamp does not make it ok, what is the point in buying a Mac and overpaying for your hardware to then run windows which you could run on none white cased hardware.

    Quoted for truth!

Even with BootCamp you still need to purchase the additional Windows license. That adds even more to the cost of an already overpriced product.

The 25 years of development also helped them make a better OS...

Mac fans can argue as much as they like, but I will remain smug my PC is better for less money and will run more programs.
