I don't think the PSPgo is going to help matters much for Sony either.
Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean
defo not, you can get a ps3 preowned cheaper then the pspgo lol what a rip of...
How the hell are they still around!?
Will Sony match Nintendo loosing 47% in profits? Don't think so.
Let don't forget that Sony isn't only about PS3....
As said above they do a lot of other stuff, tv, projectors, sound, the list goes on.
I really dont know what Sony were thinking with the PSPGO, in this current climate you need something cheap (around £100 or less). They would have probably been better off slashing the price of the current psp lite.
Seems like Microsoft is the only one with a good quarter: http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=5645
They have to think long term. They pull the plug now, screwing the customers wealthy/loyal enough to buy their product, and they may as well leave the gaming industry altogether. Plus, it's not like their year-by-year losses are getting worse.
Not forgetting that after a few years and hardware revisions, products start to become cheaper to manufacture. A company like Sony wont give up on something they have invested a lot of time and money in. They will only get stronger, few weeks back shortly after PS3 Slim was launched they outsold Nintendo Wii in Japan, definately a step in the right direction
Again I'm aware of all this but it still seems a large loss & surely at some point a line must be drawn.
Any figures for profit on the PS2? Looking back at something from 2007 I've read the PS3 losses were above the PS2 profits, as this trend has continued for another 2 years from then them's some big numbers!
