From that first link -Epic failThe full USB 3.0 specification is expected to be completed by the end of June 2008.
I wouldn't call 3 months late "EPIC FAIL" personally. 802.11n, now that was EPIC FAIL
The spec was finalised last November. It's just taken a year for people to implement the standard and produce parts based on it.
