about £650 to £800 if my amazon based prediction is correct.
There's so many things i want right now it's not even funny. But I will need to get a new laptop soon and i'm definitely gonna get a thin and light one. This looks perfect but I would really like it to have an SSD... Not to worry I'm prepared to wait until the right one comes out![]()
What we want to know is when
This may even just be the UK equivalent of the UL80Vt as the specs are nearly/actually identical (can anyone else confirm or deny? The model numbers get pretty confusing for laptops I find)

Agree, SSD would be killer, except that a decent amount of storage is also desirable. Maybe the future is 1.8" or 2.5" SSD system plus 2.5" HDD storage, even in a lappy...
There's already mini-PCIe SSD cards, they'd do the job for OS/Applications quite nicely. The technology is there, there's just no simple way to mount user profiles on an non-C: partition with Windows.
If you want an SSD just buy the laptop with the lowest spec hard drive and swap it over yourself.
Done this with my past few laptops - generally turns out cheaper than having the manufacturer upgrade you to the larger drive and many drives now come with extended (3yr+) warranties.

Nice specs...
But is the keyboard any good? I still only buy IBM's due to this, had my fingers burnt before on crappy keybaords.
Anyone heard about a uk release for this? Really need a laptop before the months up and this seems the best 13inch ultraportable. Amazon.com have it at a price which works out to £525 but I don't know if they'll ship to uk, plus delivery and customs charge might be quite a bit.
I've been checking regularly for an update on UK release and so far nothing. I'm also waiting for this one.
Just to complicate things, Asus recently showed off the UL30JT:

They've basically updated everything from CPU (Intel Core i7 – 640UM/620UM), discrete GPU (now using the G310M w/ 1gig) and better plastic on the inside. Overall battery life should improve further - due to the reduce power draw of the i7 chipset with onchip gfx vs. CULV with onboard gfx. And release date 4-8 weeks. Same gloss screen however.
So anyone's guess whether we'll even see the VT variety over here, or perhaps they'll just switch to the JT.
If anyone finds out more, keep us updated!!
