You really would have thought they would've learned from the last renaming furore that this sort of consumer misleading practice is not welcome and damages their reputation further.

They went up to the GTS 250 as well.
This really is pretty shameful by nVidia.
The OEM version of the 9800GT is GT240.
The mobile version of the 9800GT is called the GTX260M and the mobile version of the 9800GTX+ and GTS250 is called the GTX280M.
Why though?
So dumb punters think it is something more capable and powerful than it actually is?
To allow Nvidia to claim they have their 300 series out in November as promised?
Because they don't have anything new at the moment, so rebadging makes it appear they do?
Yeah, you won't see ATi doing this. nVIDIA is pretty shady.

Yeah, but the 300 series is out now so his 295 is currently obsolete. Poor Rollo.

None of you seem to be considering the flip side to this.
With 8800gt -> 9800gt -> 250 (die shrinks & minor differences aside), my 2 year old card keeps becoming brand new again
