Looks good but I hope the don't keep that big, ugly logo on the front.

And why make a fuss about 1080p output if FreeviewHD is only going to broadcast at 720p (AFAIK)?

I like it! If iplayer and 4oD get supported via the online bit that will be excellent

Re: News - 3view could be the Freeview HD set-top-box to rule them all

    How much though?

Media Streamer, Web box, PVR. I'd say at least £400, and even that is optimistic.

Look at the Popcorn C-200, that's nigh on £320 and doesnt have the option of tuners or the HDD included.

I think it's due to the fact it is also a media streamer so can play everyones legally obtained 1080p Blu Ray rips.

1080i. Nobody broadcasts 720p. Hell, BBC HD is 1440x1080 (4:3) then stretched out.

It sounds like it's got some great features but the proof will be in the pudding. Anyone remember the Evesham iplayer...

Also I hope it's available in more colours than just white.

I agree. This is easily going to be > £400.

Also, why is it that when electronics manufacturers put 500GB HDDs in PVRs they charge a massive price premium? 500GB HDDs are dirt cheap these days.

Will you be able to record from the HDD onto Blu-ray? There's 2 USB ports can you record onto a Blu-ray burner perhaps?

Re: News - 3view could be the Freeview HD set-top-box to rule them all

That would be incredibly unlikely. AFAICT, no manufacturer has ever allowed you to connect a USB CD, DVD or BD writer to a DVR/PVR.

At present, Freeview HD will be broadcast in 720p50, up until the time that everyone complains and they switch to 1080i. 1080p would be nice, but I'm skeptical they'd go that far.

Well if I wont be able to record my favourite HD movies/programmes onto a blu-ray disc, then I wont bother buying a 3view, I'm going to wait for the Toshiba or Panasonic one that has a built-in Blu-ray recorder.

    Eurovox allows you.
