its still 20% more than they are getting at the moment.
I still adverts are the best way to fund this kind of thing though.

Yeah, agreed. Ignoring the figures for a minute - i'd say that 80%+ of the UK population would be perfectly happy with advert laced music / video on demand - think cheap sky but with all content at the touch of the remote (supersky+)
BUT - give people a choice. I'll happily hand over £75 or so a month for all you can eat audio (lossless, no DRM) and proper bluray spec video (20-25 gig per movie, no DRM either). There's a lot of people like me with a lot of money rattling around their pockets at the moment waiting for a service that isn't constrained to particular devices/locations/content. Give us what we want!
Where is this 20% figure coming from, Hexus? Looks like 18% to me.
i would happily hand over small amounts of money when i am bored to watch movies... Infact i already do this when i am feeling lazy with zune market place on my xbox although the cost is high for what you get with the rental I pay it because i am lazy and can do it conveniently.
If i could pay £75 a month for all the content i would ever need (music/video) as previously posted i would pay it and definatlty use it! I would prefer this over illegal methods of getting content but it would have to be easy to use and be unlocked so i can use it on what ever device i wanted.
When we have the BBC which is paid for by the compulsory license fee , then this topic is null void in the UK. We have already paid for a news service and expect this to be available on the net for no additional cost.
Anyone willing to pay again for what we already have paid for , please feel free to save your pennies and give it to me
FixedWhen asked what they use the Internet for, porn came top, closely followed by searching for information. Reading the news came third, while social networking came fourth, with around a quarter of all those surveyed participation.
Is that the results of your own independent survey shadowmaster?
Which brings USA's 17% to 20% too!
I find it strange that people would pay for a service and agree to have ads on top of that..
Though there are other factors to consider, such as: how much you pay for having no ads completely or how much you pay for having less ads.
The other bit about everything for free with no ads; if it were possible, wouldn't we all want that?
