I couldn't agree more, BPI needs to understand that as a nation we have become accustomed to "free", and no amount of bludgeoning will change that. We don't want convenience, let the prices drop and watch the sales climb.

Why are there STILL no lossless music downloads. We pay for CDs, we get full quality (ok, still not perfect but it's better than the legal downloads), we pay for downloads we get a stripped-down version of the original music.

The only exception to this rule I think so far has been this:

BPI are self defeating, my local Chinese take away can not have the sound on their tv in the waiting area courtesy of BPI. What a bunch of F***wits. I concur with Kamikazi kid the record industry has robbed us for years with their high prices ( recovering development costs was the argument of the high costs of CD's, well Phillips developed it and virtually gave it away). All record executives should be placed in the stocks and pelted with rotten fruit every even hour and shagged by gorillas every odd hour.
