    I want one of those.

But surely though a proper projector 9and set up correctly0 could do a job just as well and probaly a darn sight cheaper

Re: News - Panasonic showcases 152in ultra-high-definition plasma at CES 2010

The key difference between a projector and a plasma is when viewing it in daylight. A projector obviously relies on reflected light, so will be effected by the ambient light conditions. Only reflections on the screen will effect a plasma display.

After that it is mainly just an engineering exercise, I can't see them selling many of these

With a 1800 lumen projector in my room projecting 94" 16:9 I'll note a few things

At max lamp output the picture is blindingly bright even without the curtain and with the room light on (in fact I think its brighter than a plasma). With a curtain and light off, using theater mode (~600 lumens) will still give a very good image quality in daytime. Not to mention projection screens tends to be matte (unless very high gain one) while plasma TVs tends to be glossy which makes projector better in daylight condition.

Projectors have came such a long way and I wouldn't even consider going back to a regular TV which is 10x the weight and use more power.
The only problem is the response time of a LCD projector can't beat plasma.

... and lasts for 1/2 hour between bulb changes? [Joke.] (Agree projectors are better btw. ZDNet (and probably Hexus somewhere) recently mentioned a "3D" 4K-res upscaling projector.)

Hmmm... i'd love to have it... but im not sure where i'd put it...

Think i'll stick with the 42" 1080p for now.

    Played Panasonic though, good work.
