Ah they must be wanting to announce the touch screen iMac. Now they would be almost useful.

Re: News - Apple belatedly brings Windows 7 support to Boot Camp

Sooo, you can run boot camp and get windows on your Mac, but Mac is better why would you want to do that..
How about the ability to run MacOSx on your PC, now that'd be good, but would mean Apple weren't so "elite" and wouldnt get as much money so they'll never do that

So you can now run a better more compatible OS on your overpriced hardware...

Still easier just to get a proper PC instead of a fashion statement in the first place.

I've found it interesting how critical people are of the touchsmart PCs from HP despite having fewer dodgy screen type issues, and having that wounderful gimmic which is touchscreen.

thats nothing new.. Mac's allowed a dual OS for a long time now..
i guess its just the support for Windows 7 thats new...
they should also allow support for Linix OS's like Redhat n Ubuntu...

Re: News - Apple belatedly brings Windows 7 support to Boot Camp

Worked fine for me without the latest bootcamp , Tried OSX and just cant get on with it, much prefer Windows, plus I do some gaming on my Macbook as well.
Wanted the Dell studio XPS 13 but there credit terms were silly so went for the next best think which was the Macbook.

Yes because writing a boot loader is very hard and complex it should take months.

Its not like grub could have done the trick with few tweaks?

Now if they would extend the critical gaping void hole in security patches to cover an OS that was say 2 years old, they might, note the word might, just about have a chance in getting the cash cow business market.

Or they could just stick to toys.

Re: News - Apple belatedly brings Windows 7 support to Boot Camp

I've been using Windows 7 on my minimac now for a couple of months, and I'm only running OSX 10.5.4. This is just formalising the support as the process runs absolutely fine already! The only problem I had was locating the sound chip - it was alcatel not REALTEK.

    Credit for a laptop?......

What? That is insanely reckless thing to do in my mind, they de-value so damn quickly. Save up for one, afterall besides games what can one do on a £1k laptop that you can't on a £200 second hand one?

Re: News - Apple belatedly brings Windows 7 support to Boot Camp

My requirements were, Half decent GPU, small 13 - 14", hence there were only 2 laptops that meet the criteria.
Not all of us can spend £1000 in one lump sum, Reckless? think your over reacting a little there, Reckless is what the banks did, what the US did when they invade country's for oil ect.
What I decided to do was pay over a period of time, as it happens I got it through work paying over 6 months with no interest.
