According to the Release Notes, it's a Known Issue, though I'll admit I didn't realise it'd be a browser problem either.

Some animated GIF files may not render properly, leaving small artifacts behind (see bug 538752)

Sorry to dig this up, although it's not quite a necro.... I've only just this evening updated to 3.6 to see what all the fuss is about... me no likey. To be fair, only one of my extensions didn't work - the mouse gestures, which was easily sorted with a new version, but it didn't open all my home tabs - I have about 15 sites I regularly browse around, and therefore had em set as home pages... it only opened 2 of them, until I clicked the home button, and they all wandered in. By far the most irritating thing however was the missing middle button scroll - I have the side button on me mouse mapped to be like clicking the scroll wheel, and I use that to scroll down long pages, like Hexus. Just plain didn't work, so I'm back on 3.5.8 cos I know it all works properly.
