Not surprised, the Ipad looks like an expensive folly if you ask me. It may have been the first one out, but better devices will arrived soon, and i bet they will be a damn site more usable & cheaper!

16% of that user base on a product with such high margins as the iPad is a ****load of money.

Anyone who can create a product in a market space such as the tablet PC, which sells that well deserves some serious kudos imho.

I know you said at least, but it's way more than 16%. Anyone who bought it on contract when it was exclusive on O2 forked out ~£800 for it! Talk about a fool and his money. I prefer the much superior HTC at slightly more than half the price

I don't think i-phone users are liars, but do think the survey is about as much use as a chocolate teacup. 24% of i-phone owners either already own or are likely to buy an i-pod touch.... What complete rubbish! I would estimate that a significant proporation of that fall into the "already own" category, as the only reason I can think of buying an i-pod touch when you have an i-phone is to conserve the battery life of the i-phone!

Don't forget that the i-phone is number 1 in the smart phone market right now, so if only 16% of that user base buy an i-pad it'sstill oodles of sales, more than some mobile phone vendors make in total sales!

Not impressed with this survey - why pick those three phone OS's and ignore the rest.

Also not that impressed with the iPad itself (and more so the dribbling hype that's surrounding it). Yes, it's a great device - and'll probably be a cinch to use - but at what price? Opinion seems to say £400-500 for even the basic version, which (imho) is way too much for such a device. Look around at how much laptop/netbook you can get for the same price.

Coupled to that are the Apple drawbacks - stalinist App Store admin, iffy firmware upgrade process (see the various postings on the Apple forums about bricked iPod's/iPhones), and Apple's poor technical support (well at least it's been laughably poor for me anyway).

Nope, I'll salute the iPad as a technical achievement, then wait for MSI, HP etc to do something similar that'll probably be Windows7 running, but'll be eminently upgradeable to Linux.
