News - Corsair lets loose its second high-end chassis: the Obsidian Series 700D

Just as big, almost as useful, but cheaper than the award-winning Obsidian Series 800D.

Bit of a disappointment, I was hoping something nearer to an oversized mid tower instead of an 800D clone.

I'm pretty pleased with this... especially as I'm not that keen on windows in the side of the case anyway If it's at the £150 mark, I'll def be buying one in the next couple of months.

I can see me buying this. Not a fan of the window chassis, don't need hot-swappable drives, so the 800D was always overkill for me. This case ticks all the boxes.

Agreed. They've removed the only two features I wasn't interested in - now all they need to do is drop it into my price bracket and I'll be a happy camper!

Re: News - Corsair lets loose its second high-end chassis: the Obsidian Series 700D

It's nice to see sensible things being removed to cut costs for a change, rather than the things that make it stand out. I love the dual PSU ability and motherboard tray with access holes. So glad to see that've survived the cost cuts.

Echoing the above comments - liking the lack of the windowed side too. An e-sata port would be good (on this and the 800D) but depending on price I could be very tempted.

Re: News - Corsair lets loose its second high-end chassis: the Obsidian Series 700D

as others have said, culling the hot swap bays and the side window seem sensible. Actually, I think I would pay a (small) price premium not to have a window on the side.

Haha glad I'm not the only one... having to do pretty wiring is just too much of a hassle for me! I don't really want to gaze upon my under-funded hardware either...

Re: News - Corsair lets loose its second high-end chassis: the Obsidian Series 700D

The 800D and this 700D are really nice bits of kit. I'll be particularly interested when Corsair introduces something more the size of a midi tower though, these cases are massive!

as much as i love small cases, they are just impossible to cable and fit graphics cards and a load of equipment easily. midi cases are just too small for me

for me it has to be big!

really hoping for a sub £100 price, but doubtful at this early stage

Would love some of the features in a smaller size. 500D mini tower?
