    HAHAHHAHAHA.... No.

Seriously, I can get a real computer for that, with enough beer money left over to get stupidly drunk.

    Apple has lost the plot.

It probably will, thus fuelling my cynicism and lack of faith in humanity.

Re: News - Apple iPad: UK pricing leaked by online retailer?

Is it really "eagerly anticipated" by anyone other than Mac fans (and only some of that at any rate)?
I just can't see it being useful for really anything. It just doesn't look like it will do anything particularly well.

I'm looking to upgrade my first gen EEE PC later this year and nothing compels me with the iPad. The eInk Adam looks far more versatile (though I wish Google would release a touch friendly version of Chrome OS for devices like this) or that hybrid Lenovo that can be a netbook & tablet with different OSs & processors for each.

Not really a surprise. Apple are well known for raping their customers at every opportunity. Anything involving an exchange of currency is just another excuse for adding a bit on

Not a huge suprise considering how much they charge for some of their other products.

But people are paying, which justifies the price point.

The Iraqi government spent millions of dollars on bomb detectors which didn't detect bombs. That didn't make it any less of a scam.

No I don't argue that point, but the detector sellers made money and that is my point. Ultimately Apple is a business and all they want to do is make a much money as possible.

I would love to see, at the £499 price point, a PC in that form factor with multi-touch, Win 7, 4GB RAM+, 40GB+ SDD, a CULV CPU, not Atom ... and I would purchase that just for Bryce and Paint.NET. (I'm sure others would for Photoshop...)
