Why would anyone pay that much for a 15 inch screen? I know i wouldnt, phone screens are near that size now :P 32 inches at least please a reasonable price only!!
That profile view is mental! :O_o1: Doesn't look like it would be much good for wall-mounting from looking at that pic though - bit of a flaw given its size and intended usage? But then if you can afford it, you've probably got a kitchen/bathroom big enough not to worry about wall-mounting I suppose!
Sickly thin!
Although for that much money, you can buy a lot more TV than a 15" one.
Yeah, but not an OLED one.
People will buy this - just as people buy handbags for 3 grand or cars for 200. I've seen the Sony 11" OLED screens in operation, and if this is anything like those were quality wise, i'll be adding one of these to my 'allowed to buy when drunk' list ...
You're not kidding on the slow progress.Quote:

2012 and possibly 2011 is when the OLED market will be pushed further so expect 42inch OLED displays hovering around this price at the end of 2012. Development hasnt really been that slow really, the 40inch OLED display has been running successfully for a few months now but its the fact its not yet ready for the mainstream consumer yet, i believe the main problem at the moment was the reliability but this is what they are working on now.
As soon as they hit it just means a matter of time before they are the price of current LCD/Plasmas, i suspect 2015 is the year of those pricings.
edit: Also, if i won the lottery id bag 4 of these and have a quad display for my desktop... that would look epic :)
i need this in monitor form... NOW!
Couldn't you just use a DVI to HDMI cable from your graphics card's output anyway? Since it's so small I doubt there's the usual problems with TVs of looking poor quality closer than their designed viewing distance
That said I wouldn't be interested in one anyway, make it 30" and then we are talking... I bought a 3008WFP 30" LCD for £1k before before, would definitely be worth a bit more (from the prices mentioned in the preview) - standard LCDs are horrible for computers I think. You have to either choose bad for gaming (slow response time and ghosting) IPS type LCD or bad for games, creativity apps and films (limited colour range) TN LCD...
