iPhone, you say?
How quaint.
Android all the way, baby
My HTPC: Linky
Multitasking ? Folders ?
Nothing jailbroken users haven't had on their iphones for 2-3 years...
"New ad platform"?
I already get far too much in the way of ads shoved through my letter box and bombarding my few TV-watching hours. I DO NOT want them sent to my phone. As it happens, I'm not interested in iPhones anyway, but if I was, that would kill it completely for me..
Most people who buy iphones don't know what multi-tasking is (if they did, then why would they buy an iphone )... so I don't think any iphone user will be jumping up in excitement regarding this...
Even my 7650 from 2002 had multi-tasking...
Umm, I find that jailbreaking/unlocking iPhone is not the most straightforward of things, especially because of there are different ways and some seem better than others. So I always spend some time researching before I go ahead with it , and it works just fine
That said, I didn't really jailbreak it for the multi-tasking anyway, it was just so that I can run trusted applications that takes some time before they are approved by Apple Store.
It'll likely make a bigger difference to the 3GS replacement when it turns up.
They're multitasking is really state-saving, which will work ok for most things, but forget IRC and web browser at same time if you want to stay online with IRC whilst browsing.
Its getting there I guess.
Trying to decide myself wehter to get a iPhone or a Android handset from my old Samsung D900i which annoys the hell out of me.
Multitasking proper will be on whatever the next iPhone is, its the way they make there money, tell everyone they dont need a feature, then include it in the new model and make a big song and dance about it..
My brother just got a HTC Legend, very impressed. The Android OS has improved a lot in comparison to my magic and the screen quality is top notch. I personally think its better then the iphone and very good value for money considering you can get it free on £20 a month.
Oh indeed, the performance of a mates HTC Desire nocks that of the 3GS iPhone into a cocked hat.
But the battery life is just as bad as the iphone, which imho isn't good enough.
