"Central to creating the fully-connected digital home is the availability of super-fast home broadband"
Dunno why they've partnered with Virgin then - I've now lived in two houses within a couple of miles of Manchester City Centre, neither of which had the option of cable. If you can't get their services (in a densely-packed residential area of one of the country's major cities), it doesn't matter how good their "quad-play" offering is...

You think thats bad? Virgin (or NTL as they were then) were cabling this area some 15 or so years ago, shortly before we moved here. Our local council denied them permission to dig up part of the road, as they had recently put a new surface down. I live on a corner house - the street next to me can get NTL, the other half of my street get it, and pretty much all the surrounding roads and houses can get it. Except maybe 10 houses or so, including mine - it's an absolute joke.

It's not always Virgin's fault - sometimes it's the idiots in the council.

In all fairness, those dirty theiving manc gits nicked half the fibre optic cable and sold it to the scousers and geordies, which is why they have cable

Violence and Lubrication is the solution to fixing everything, if it still doesn't work, you need more lubrication.

Tell me about it. I've moved... and where i am. Doesnt have Virgin. 5 streets down? Does. I was pissed as hell when i found out. (went to shop to get top up on gas/elec and saw the cable boxes cos they were redoing pavement.

I'm Loathing Sky CS. If its not their automated menu system designed to drive you crazy. Its the chimps on the other end that dont understand simple requests.

My supposedly simple insteall finally went in monday. We moved in march. We are still awaiting phone and BB.

    /me grumbles.

CS in this country has gone to the dogs.
