    Thanks for the info. I just wanted to check that this is right:

    Starting at £620 for the Atom & Ion, and £630 Athlon X2 and ATI HD 5470.
    Is this right? This seems to make the Atom / Ion combination seem awfully poor value, given a system that (plugged in to the mains) doesnt need to be so power efficient.

    It will probably be the Athlon L310 or similar, which while faster than the Atom, is still a netbook chip. It's a cracking little chip from my experience of the Acer Ferrari Ones we've bought (don't ask... not my idea! I hate the garish things, but the kids love them, and they are good).

    //edit: The Athlon is the 250u, while the Atom has the D510. The AMD machine looks far superior to the Intel one.
