Cheaper, lower end RAM would do me. I'm getting tired of all this high priced super performance stuff when all I want is some low price DDR3 for a web browsing system.

I never said it was aimed at the non-enthusiast. My complaint is about the lack of this reasonably priced lower end DDR3 (and RAM in general right now to be honest). It's just too expensive still.

I would much rather see lower prices on 'lower end' RAM, than more high end stuff being pushed.

TBH Agent memory pricing is hitting the roof with cost of production and becuase the pound is so weak at the moment. Even value memory is priced over most peoples budget compared to a year or so ago.

RAM more than any other component is classified as a commodity, and commodity prices are dictated much more by volatile and mystical market forces and far more strongly influenced by things like economy, currency etc as Paulm@scan mentioned, than by manufacturers themselves. :)
