Are you kidding, at the level of economic policy incompetence to date, a hung parliament is the best possible result. Where do these idiotic speculators get their information from?
The only thing which has shocked me is just how many votes Labour still got.
Not convinced it's political uncertainly that's caused the run. More like it's the panic on the markets over the weakness of the eurozone. There's trouble all over the financial world right now.

Its based on fear over our debts, the idea a hung parliament might not be able to make the required cuts due to all the pork barrelling they have to do, as they have more vested interests to please.
We could well be in trouble, but at least we've got our gold to fall back on... oh wait a second.

/\ what he says.
having one lot of nutter in charge means at least you have one lot of nutty ideas.
a hung parliament could mean that n decisions on anything ever get made....
but Cons and Lib is a better choice than Lab and Lib, cos they'd never ever agree....
with two potential chancellors..and Gordon being the old one and joint leader.. Vince could never look Briown in the face without screaming with helpless laughter

Normally I'd agree with you, but the trouble is the Govt is now required to act decisively.
Some of those actions will be against the wishes of certain segments of the country in order to sort out the debt. Raise taxes, cutting jobs etc.
With more interested parties to please there can be less decisive action.
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
The only hung parliament that would be good for the people would be the imcumbent lot dangling from Tower Bridge...

Maggie would have never been able to do so much good in a hung parliment.
Too many people are solely self interested and short sighted to take their medicine, they will put it off for as long as possible. Un popular tax rises are hard to do in a hung.
These all spook the markets, think that they are wrong, buy some £...

Or so much harm.
Hard, but not impossible, and not even necessarily at a slow pace either. I think we'll be surprised with the turn-around parliament can get the national debt dealt with, now that the election is out of the way, incumbent Brown and his incompetent buffoon brigade are out, and the tories have established 3d party support.
If I had a load of £, it would probably already be in £.
In any event, I guess we'll have to wait and see over the coming weeks.
