I had a go of the ipad in the US last week and I have to be honest I liked it but that was only about an hour of use, unless they get flash support I won't be buying one.

As with most "Apple" goods, one has to wait for a long time to allow for exploding batteries, buggy software, 20 firmware updates (all useless and target piracy), overheating etc etc etc BEFORE one should even consider buying it. However, luckily for Apple Inc, there is a sufficient number of learning impaired children who buy it when they here the words "there's an app for that"
Tell me again why the 3G model costs £100 more if it doesn't include data. Damn sure a 3G module doesn't cost anywhere near that much.
The iPad is basically an iPod touch with a bigger screen and battery:
