I'm not convinced that would be the right move, but there is some merit to the idea. Going the HTC route wouldn't be a bad thing, Android under a Nokia interface. Although I think it would be a shame to see it disapear, I don't really think there is much point in Symbian these days. And Meamo seems rather pointless too.
