Loving all of the features they've added, I wonder if we'll be able to notice the speed increase. All we need now is the phone companies to release their 2.2 updates. Here's hoping HTC gets theirs out for the Desire quickly.
Kind-of putting me off buying an Android device any time soon. I don't want to be in the same boat as Hero users stuck on an old version. Too many devices are being left behind already
You can still buy devices on 1.5. Fair enough HTC should get round to updating most of their phones at some point, but I worry about some of the other manufacturers less dedicated to Android as a platform.
And the Hero update has been delayed numerous times, so it's always 'next month' much to the disgust of a couple of my colleagues who have them.
Seems that HTC say that most of their phones launched in 2010 will get 2.2 in the second half of this year. Starting with the Desire, wooo!

With respect to older Android phones I'm hoping HTC have just been waiting for a significant release rather than not caring about existing customers. If they knew 2.2 it was coming it makes some sense, particularly with he speed improvements as the older phones have slower CPUs anyway.
Looks good but i'm off to the new iphone when it's released.
I'm fed up of HTC waiting to update my Hero. They keep saying next month when the Sprint users have already got it.
I may forgive them though if the release android 2.2 for the Hero in the next month.
I can't see a technical reason why as the new android versions are meant to perform better.
blooming ROOT your device then!
u could run 2.1 on hero months ago
