Actually, you can buy a DIY dish kit for about £20 on ebay. Takes about 30 minutes. You just need to look at what direction your neigbours dishes are pointed and then get your wife to shout at you when your telly finds the signal.
To be frank, I don't want to watch it in standard definition.
But as the question goes, I'm not interested unless it's via Sky. They've got the big channels, and they've got the best platform (in my eyes). Having said that, there's no way I'm paying extra for the privilege.
I suspect when 3D gets rolled out in a couple of years' time HD will become free, and 3D will become premium, as happened to Sky+.
you dont NEED a phoneline for sky, they say yo udo but you dont. It's only needed to purchase things of box office etc
Personnaly I couldn't care less about the world cup, but I am happy its going on as the big free HD box race has started for the world cup which should get more products out there and reduce prices.

I'd always told myself I'd get HD for the World Cup, so I ended up subscribing to Sky late last year.
Looking forward to the footie, but I don't watch enough tele for it to be good value for money. I'm likely to cancel my Sky subscription as soon as the contract is up, and by then I'm hoping there will be cheaper Freeview HD PVRs on the market.
Even with the Freeview HD PVRs at £300 how many months does that buy you with sky/virgin? with that they should get cheaper quite quickly as demand after the world cup dies down.
You can have the phone line with anyone, we have a virgin phone line and its no issue.
